I'm using Yahoo Beta Mail and I want to know how to delete SPAM from my inbox without actually opening it.

I've had same problem and still trying to figure that one out :-( I've also noticed that since joining Yahoo Answers I've been bombarded by dozens of spam mails everday whereas before I received maybe 1 or 2 a week. If you're only concerned about spammers detecting that you've opened their mail, turn on image blocking in the mail options. Images are how spammers detect that the message has been opened. By blocking images, you stop spammers from learning that you've opened the message. If you don't want to do that, turn off the preview pane. Click on the "View" button and select "Reading Pane" or just press the key "v" (the hotkey for enabling/disabling the preview pane). This will prevent the message from being opened when you click on it. As for getting spam in your Inbox, yes...Yahoo! is supposed to filter spam into your Spam folder. However, detecting spam isn't 100% accurate. As Yahoo! gets better at stopping spam, spammers find new ways of masking their messages to get by the filters. It's a war of escalation. Yahoo! is pretty good about reacting quickly, but sometimes the messages still get through.
