How do you check sent e-mail from Yahoo answers to contacts?

My Yahoo email has been hacked, sent spam and deleted emails & contacts?

  • This afternoon, an email was sent to everyone on my contact list - as far as I can tell - saying I had bought a new iPhone from www eeook.com- check it out, signed from me. I have lost all my received and sent mail, and my contact list. Can I get my messages and contacts back? Thanks Gina

    Sounds like you picked up a virus, Gina. Immediately have your computer checked for a 'bug' or 'bugs.' If you have the proper programs, do the scans yourself, if not you need to take your computer to some one who can. Once it is clean of pests, install a firewall and an anti-virus program if you do not have one yet. I strongly recommend a program for malware and adware also. After you finish this, then go in and change your password, using a good strong one. Then you have to inform all of your contacts that you did not send them those mails, the virus did, and that they need to check their computers for infection, too

And often they copy your contact list. Tell your friends to not include your name in bulk emails. Change your password using upper /lower case letters, numbers, and symbols. Example: ---Ge$4Tu ----Never use a dictionary word. As there is dictionary software you can run on an email address. Never click on a link that takes you to a page to sign on somewhere. It most likely is a fake webpage.
