How do I get out of Yahoo Connect?

How do I get these fake spam bot people to quit trying to connect to me on Yahoo?

  • Is there an option somewhere to control my privacy settings? I get like 5 requests daily from these fake people to connect with me on yahoo. Not Yahoo answers, but on my 'yahoo profile thing'. I don't want to turn off my connections completely, but it is getting annoying. I know they are fake profiles trying to connect because none of them have a picture or any information about themselves. I went into my privacy options and didn't see anything.

    Here's how! Go to yahoo pulse, i.e. profile, go to privacy, then notifications, then turn off friend requests so they can still request, but you don't get the mail. Worked a charm!

Same here! I was just about to ask the same question. I get even more than 5 requests, and sometimes they come every few hours. I notice it almost completely stopped going str8 to my inbox once I marked them as spam. I guess since it's happening to everyone, it'll eventually blow over--I hope! Make sure you don't even click on the e-mails, but send them directly to your spam folder.

In "most" cases, this should stop them Just disable "updates" in your mail settings. Mail page>>options>>mail/more options>>>>>AND UNCHECK the button next to "enable updates". Then click "save changes" at the top of the page. You should also go to your Pulse page, and UNCHECK "share my updates"----then scroll to and click "save" (bottom of page). http://pulse.yahoo.com/y/settings/updates

Thanks asking Kasey! I had the same here at least 10 to 16 per day! It is as if some one hijacked my account. I'm gonna try Okei's suggestion right now and see if it works. Let ya know....

Mark them as spam and automatically delete them to your spam folder. The more times you hit them as spam, the better Yahoo can detect them.
