How do you change your old email address to a new one?

When friends change email address, how do you remove the old one, so it doesn't pop up in autofil w/new one?

• After a friend changes email address, even tho I update it in my contacts, delete the old one - it still pops up as an option in the autofil list. So I have to be really careful and make sure I use the right one. How can I make the old ones go away, for good? THANKS!

• Answer:

  The old address pops up because your browser uses "cookies" to remember stuff that you typed before, even though its no longer in the contact list. You can remove it from the pop-up list by hovering your mouse pointer over it and pressing the Delete key.
