How do I set up a new second yahoo account for my son?

Hi. I tried to set up a free yahoo mail account for my son. I have one. Now it wants credit card info. Why?

  • Hi. When I filled out the form for free yahoo mail, it did not ask for credit card info. Why is it now? Is there another way to do it without giving this info out? Thanks :)

  • Answer:

Don't give out that info. Make sure you are really on the yahoo web page.

There is no reason that Yahoo would ask for your Credit Card Info, it is possible you selected to upgrade your Yahoo account instead of signing up for a new free account, if this is the case, Log completely out of Yahoo first... Then go back to http://www.yahoo.com and start the process again, creating another Free account.

Yahoo must think your son is underage and wants a credit card to prove that he is old enough to have his own account. I think.

I am guessing when you filled in the information you clicked that your child was under 18 and that is when i believe they ask you for credit card infomation. Your best bet is to have the account under your name and info with his name significant or just click that the holder is over 18 and you should be golden!

maybe try to type it in so that the year of his birth is like 20 years ago or something.. like 1990, or further back 1980..it wont mess up anyting else..

It's the right site. If you try to sign someone under the age of 18 up for an account, it asks for a credit card. Just say he's 18. It's ok to lie to the internet. It lies to you.
