I had an old email address which is now active again. I believe it was done malicously. It is causing me serious problems right now. Can someone help me ASAP please? I cannot get into it as all the security questions and passwords have been changed. Please help me.

Contact the email provider and explain the situation. Email providers don't want their services used for spamming. Also, open a new account (sounds like you already have) and contact those who are likely to email you and inform them ASAP. They can "black-list" your old account and avoid getting potentially dangerous spam that they trust and open (and even follow links) because they think it's from you!
