Can you please help with eBay?

Can anyone help please explain it to me with more detail of why my account with ebay is suspended?

  • My ebay account has just gotten suspended yesterday. I received and email from ebay stating that my account is suspended and to call customer service for more info. I called this morning and was told that my account was suspended due to another user under a different username using the same billing info like mines on my account with ebay. That was why they had suspended my account. Now I asked them what can we do to further this matter because I don't want to be blamed with someone else using my billing information to purchase or try to sell stuff on my account. Well the lady told me she was gonna email me info and what I needed to have to get my account in good status again but I have not gotten any mail. Not even in the spam folder. So I contacted Ebay again and this time this lady told me that my account is suspended due to a sale I had made that was against ebay selling rules. I asked her why was I told something different this morning and she transferred me to treasury and funds department where I spoke with a guy who was just as helpful as the other two. Not giving me any specific dates to this "sale" i supposedly made but asking me to fax over a copy of my ID and a electric bill statement claiming that its really me to that account. Now when I asked why he couldnt give me that information of what it was that I supposedly sold he put me on hold forever and when he came back on he tells me he don't have that information on his computer that he can't access that information. That I needed to send in what they are requesting first before they give out more info as to why my account is suspended. So I asked if I could speak with a supervisor and he said that he was the highest rank that I could be transferred to speak with and then he tells me to appeal in Ebay if I feel they are wrong. I asked how can I do that when I can't even log onto my account to even go appeal this case. I am not even able to go into my account to check if the emails I was sent is in my messages in ebay either to make sure ebay is really contacting me with this stuff. I asked if he can direct me on how to get in and appeal this problem when I can't even log in and he says there is nothing more I can help you with on this situation and he hangs up. talk about being rude. I calm throughout this whole cat and mouse chase to find answers with ebay and they hung up on me in the end. Now I am pissed but more confused than pissed so before I start over reacting and doing something reckless I am asking other people for help. I did call back ofcourse after that guy hung up on me and when the rep answered I asked right away if I can speak with the supervisor there but she asked the questions of hopes of being able to help me out instead but it ended up me being told to fax my ID and and utility bill under my name to them and they will be able to get back to me on my situation. Now being told just today that there is another person using my personal billing information on ebay and making a ruckus about it and then not even getting help from ebay I am not that much in a rush to send copies of the rest of my personal info to these people and be a victim of Identity Theft. So this being said here can someone with a clear calm mind please explain or tell me that you agree with me about this being a little too fishy? I don't know any help is appreciated.     Make sure that you are actually calling ebay, not the number listed on the original email message to you or letter. Next go to Annual credit report.com to look up any suspicious activity on your records. This is a free site authorized by the government so people have a right to see their credit report from the three major reporting agencies once a year. Write ebay a letter and advise them that you find this letter suspicious as they are asking for personal account information and account numbers from bills that have no bearing on your ebay status. They must already have your banking info so what else would they need. If they have accepted another account with a person with your same name, it is ebay's fault and not yours. Look at your ratings on ebay to see if you have any recent negative reviews. Do the research. If all else fails contact a TV station that has a journalist who works on public problems to get them resolved. Good luck.

Hey Boo, I sold on ebay for 2 year, I had 77 positive, 6 negative, I have had my account suspended 4-5 times and now it is on permanently banned from selling status. I am honest and fair. Unfortunately for me I am also highly disorganized. I wantd to give you seller advice. 1. DO NOT try to open up other accounts if your account is currently suspended. It will work for a week or two, it will end you up where i ended up. 2. WAIT 30-45 days, they will take your account off suspension, BE very careful during the next 30 days to NOT get a negative rating. (I did, sold a printer, labeled the title heading incorrectly with the wrong model number, and after refunding them the full amount later they left a negative rating, got suspended again.) If your account has been suspended it will be restored, if it is suspended indefinitely it will be due to opening a bunch of accounts after your original account is suspended. Amazon is a good online market, eBay of course has a wider range of products and consumers. Your account will be restored again, being honest is critical: do you know anyone else that sells on ebay. Has anyone else asked you to sell for them on ebay? If no to both, call ebay sellers account department, tell them to transfer you to the appeals department, talk to the supervisor.
