How can I close my e-mail address?

How can I close down the obligatory Yahoo! email address that corresponds to my primary yahoo ID.?

• My primary Yahoo ID has been around a long time, is publicly listed in Yahoogroups and so the corresponding Yahoo! email address attracts a a lot of spam. I have a secondary and preferred yahoo email address which is not in public space and is not spammed. I would like to forward just the email to that good address to another account without all the spam. Yahoo have their address guard scheme for creating disposable email IDs but my problem is that the 'fixed' address is spammed, thanks I suspect to YahooGroups. I can change my YahooID on yahoogroups to an ID for which I have not created a corresponding mail account but this is closing the barn door after the horse has bolted. Thanks.

  . . . . . . At first, log in Yahoo homepage and click on <email>.And click on <My account> .Change your Alternate Email Adress and click on <Finish>.And click on <Edit> ,and click on <Verify>. If you are a Yahoo Chat user , click on <Chat> and change Email address(anything). If you are a Answers user,go to Answers and click one <Edit my Profile> .You can change your Answers emal address. If you have not another Email account ,creat a new one @Yahoo or @hotmail Don't be depressed . . . . .
