Why was my yahoo account discontinued?

Invalid ID and password when trying to log into Yahoo account, disabled and discontinued?

• I have been logged into my primary Yahoo account (not this one) for a long time, with no problems. Even this morning it was working fine. All of a sudden, I cannot get into the account, I'm getting "Invalid ID or password", but I know they're correct. So I sent a test message to my account from another (Gmail) account, and it was bounced back from Yahoo with the following message: "Diagnostic-Code: smtp;554 delivery error: dd Sorry your message to [email protected] cannot be delivered. This account has been disabled or discontinued [#102]. - mta281.mail.mud.yahoo.com" (I replaced the name of the account with XXX above for privacy). I didn't ask for it to be closed, etc. Can someone tell me what to do? I have over 200 saved emails in that account that I need to access. I tried the reset password option but it tells me I can't do that online.

  The same thing just happened to me. I am not myself as we rely on those accounts for files that we may not have gotten to yet. I don't know what to do or think. I have no idea what's going on. Was it hacked? closed?
