I closed an yahoo email account 4 years ago, but the yahoo ID is still not available to use. Why!!!!?

I closed the Email because it got hacked and I was getting thousands of emails a day. I have checked to see if the ID ever came back available to use because I would like it back but it still says unavailable. Does anyone have any idea why the id would still be unavailable if no one has used it in the past 4 years. I also used Yahoo auctions with the account, and have thought that may be the reason.

well, there cud be 2 possibilities 2 ur ques : (acc. 2 me) 1. sum1 else has taken tht id. 2. yahoo cnt b perfect. mayb no1 is using it, but its stil an "unusuable" id. i knw its frustratng. bt u jus hav 2 face it. :((

Though your email account was closed by you, apparently all other activities on Yahoo! are still open to you under that screen name. Music, games, possibly even Yahoo! chat and instant messenger, in addition to auctions, may all be open to you. You may need to open a different email account, though. Unless you can get in touch with Yahoo! and see about getting the old one going again. Maybe, since you were getting so much spam, and that you were hacked, Yahoo! just won't reopen that account--to anyone.

you deleted it so its gone, it cant come back so therefore you cant use it anymore. just create a new id :)
