How Else Do I Delete My Account?

I've been trying to delete my account for some time now. I go to the termination page and I go through all the steps. When I get to the confirmation page I click that I'm sure I want to delete my account. The next thing I get is a message that says "something went wrong and cannot delete account at this time", what in the heck does that mean? I no longer want this account. So I do I get rid of it when it won't let me? I'm seriously irritated by this!
