How do I close out my current Yahoo email and make a new one?

  • I need to close out my current Yahoo email and make a new one. If I do, it will not automatically give my new email address will it? If someone sends an email to my old account I mean? How do I go about doing this?

    Dear Angela, Go to this link I post here.http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/account/account-11.html copy this link in your web browser.Whenit loads scroll down to yo usee the word account deletion.This will take you to paget where it will ask yes or no if you want to terminate your account.If you want to delete your account click on yes if no then no. Once you go terminate your account go to yahoo again and create your new user name. If you close out your current email address, you have to make another one by yourself. And any emails sent to that old address won't make it to you. Sorry. Good Luck!

you simply open a new yahoo account the way you did your first one. you can't delete an old mail account, yahoo will cancel it after about 6 months with no activity on it. You will not be able to transfer any info from one acconut to another so make sure you know ppls addresses before you do this. your mail will not automatically be forwarded either.

sorry u yahooooooooo!!! till the end of ur life. u can't transfer ur old contacts or anytin to a new one. simply disregard the old one 4 6months, they shut it down 4 u, then goto www.yahoomail.com, click on sign up and feel in anykind of info u want to fill in... u got a new email to treasure

You will need to make your new email address and send everyone you want to have it an email announcing your new address. I know it bites that you cannot forward , but life is hard. What can we expect for free?
