Can I have my mail forwarded from one yahoo account to another automatically?

Can I create a new Yahoo! mail account and phase out the old one?

• Is there any way to create a new yahoo! email account, and continue to have the mail from my old one forwarded to the new one? I know about the extra ID feature, but I'd like an entire new account altogether, while still being able to phase out the old one and eventually to delete...

  Y! doesn't have an E-mail forwarding feature. If you just want a different ID, I can understand. If you have a Flickr account, I’m not certain how that will transition, but if you use the same Real Name & DOB on both accts, you should have no probs. After you create the new acct, you’ll have to re-customize your Y! page(s). Be certain to export your address book from the acct you are phasing out and import it into the new one. In the OLD acct, open Mail Classic >> Options >> General Prefs. The first window in GenPrefs is the name you want everyone to see, followed by the E-mail address. The next line is a Reply To address option. Put your NEW address here UNLESS there is someone in your past (or present) that you don’t want that information shared with. The old acct will be automatically deleted after 4 months of inactivity, so after creating the new ID, arm the Reply To or contact all your friends. Use your new account solely. Abandon the old one. Sudhir has a recommendation that I forgot - Tnx, Sudhir. Ladymistic's suggestion is fine one if you plan on using the Reply To. The new address announce sends your new add to every address in your book.
