How to change name on yahoo plus account?

• Okay, I may be a computer doofus, butt really need to know something about Yahoo accounts. I subscribed to Classic until I downloaded an app that required I subscribe to Plus, so did. Then, determined I needed a few aliases to choose from when using Yahoo! Messenger, so started trying, as best I understood how, to add new names to what I tho't was my Plus account. Questions: How can Yahoo tell that I'm only trying to use aliases and not opening entirely new Plus accounts, which could cost me a bundle if I'm not careful. Also, I just tonight learned that changing one's Yahoo account name is not allowed, impossible, or something of that nature. If that had been stated up front, early on, it would have saved me hours of frustration and chasing wild geese. Be that as it may, so then am I to be forced to choose, as my "primary account" my Plus account with the lame name, or should I work with a Classic account and what features and advantages would I be losing? Finally, I've read the Terms of Service over and over wearing reading glasses!!! Can't find a clue as to what I've done wrong and Yahoo won't tell me, citing their "respect for privacy" policy so I'm left screwed. How can I retrieve my profile info from the prohibited account, or avoid making the same "mistake" in the future without knowing what I did wrong in the first place? Does anyone think I should report possible abuse--like maybe someone has my password and is messing with my account info? Thanks to all.
