How do you change your old email address to a new one?

If I want to change my email address to a new one, will I lose everything I've used with that address?

• I made my Hotmail e-mail address when I was in 6th grade so let's just say it's not very mature. I want to change it but I fear that it will take a massive amount of work trying to get everyone to send stuff to my new one instead. When I change it, does that mean I have to create a brand new hotmail account? Where do you even go to change it? Also, will I have to get a new Facebook and Myspace account if I want to use my new email address for it? Sorry for so many questions. I kind of in the dark with this whole thing! Thanks

  unless you will completely delete the old one, no matter you have already a new one, the old one will still remain. in order to let your contacts know the new email address, (is it thousands of contacts you have?), you may send a notification to some of them everyday until you will be able to fully receive incoming emails from them in your new email add. if you have very important things inside that old email address, you may import/forward it to your new one. if that old email add is connected to your Facebook and Myspace, just leave it as it is and use it when you want to open the Facebook and Myspace also. but receive new emails to your new mail add.
