Why don't you start all over again by going to "sign up" and write in the new address. Hopefully, nobody has used that one yet. Or you can add it as a second e-mail address to your already existing one. Yahoo even allows a period dot in between words now, so, if you want you don't have to use the underscore in between your two words.

Go to your public profile: (assuming) http://edit.yahoo.com/config/edit_identity AND, click the button for create new public profile. You wont actually be editing, you will be adding. Then you can log on, with your new profile, using your old password.

only way to edit your id is in your account but changing your email address is not allowed you can add another email address into your account and then confirm it then make your primary address good luck...c yah...
