If my Yahoo account was stolen, is there any way to retrieve it?

How can I retrieve the password for my yahoo account? I forgot the answer to the challenge question.?

• Last June, I accessed my yahoo email account, & was able to send messages to my friends & relatives, then signed out. After an hour, I decided to sign in again, but could not access my account. I re-entered my password several times, but could not really access. I filled out that portion for the "forgot your password". I was being asked for the answer to the challenge question but, I could not remember. I created that email addy 7 years ago! Is there a way I could ask & write the yahoo staff how I could retrieve the password? That email addy really means much to me, that was my very first email account. I had to create another email address last July, to facilitate communication w/ my friends & relatives. I am hopeful that there's a way to do this. PLEASE...!   You will need to do a password recovery to get your account back. You are asked for your birth date and the ZIP or postal code you have on file.
