How can I delete my yahoo id?

Can i delete primary yahoo id and retain its alias?else how can i make alias as primary?

• I no longer want to keep my primary yahoo id as i like the one which is an alias created under that primary id. Please help me get away with my primary id and delete the same

  Yahoo has advised me you can make the alias the primary email to receive emails, but you cannot delete the original primary email address because this will also delete the alias that you want to use. To notify your contacts of the email change click on OPTION...MAIL OPTIONS...go to the left side and click on ACCOUNTS..then click on ADD OR EDIT...go back and click on MAIL again...Under MANAGEMENT scroll down and click on ANNOUNCE EMAIL ADDRESS...once you are done with what you want the notice to say AND after adding your contactlist in the header click on PREVIEW AND SEND....when the new screen comes up and everything is as you want it...go below and send it.... +++++++++++++++ I might also recommend a vacation type response on the email address that you do not want to use so anyone you miss will know which one you want them to use. Be sure that you are signed in to the right address (your original one). Click on OPTIONS....MAIL OPTIONS...go to the left side of the screen and click on VACATION RESPONSE. Make sure the date you pick goes as far in to the future as you can make it. Click on SAVE CHANGES when done.
