How does a person know if their account has been hacked?

Yahoo account was hacked and need help?

  • A couple years ago my yahoo account was hacked to gain access to my Facebook, Paypal, Skype, Email, yahoo messenger, etc, accounts. I used to know the person whom hacked my accounts but have no contact with her now. I really don't like her very much lol.. The reason I am asking this now is recently I have begun getting strange emails from yahoo.. What I believe has happened is that she (the hacker) has used my email address as a secondary email or recovery email on one of her yahoo accounts. So I am getting yahoo email notifications whenever she makes changes to her yahoo account. One email said that the password on her account has changed and the other stated that she added a mobile number to the account. I emailed yahoo and couple months ago and asked them to take my email off of this account of hers and got no reply. I have been looking around the Yahoo site looking for an option to search and remove my email address from any associated accounts. Does anyone know how to do this? Yahoo has not been any help to me. I just want my email taken off her account..

    HACKED ACCOUNT... If you feel your Yahoo! account may have been compromised, you can attempt to recover your account using our online password reset wizard. Here is how: 1.Go to the wizard at https://edit.yahoo.com/forgotroot/ 2.Select My account may have been compromised as the first option. 3.Walk through the CAPTCHA process and follow the other steps as outlined in the wizard. good luck.
