How can I create a new account on yahoo?

If I delete my Yahoo account can I create a new one with the same information?

  • What I am trying to say is, I want to delete my current account, due to some very disturbing and disgusting e-mail ads I am now receiving for some reason. So, I was wondering, is it possible to delete my account, yet when I go to "create a new account" can I still use the same e-mail name, user name, and password that I have been using, since it should be "available" once I delete my current account?

    All your personal info will be the same yes. But the actual email address itself no it will not be that same. In order to use the same one you must wait 6 months and then 1 additional each year that you held the account. Three years comes to 9 months hope this helps. JTSYS

If you delete the account, you have to wait a period of time before that Yahoo ID becomes available for use again (think it's 6 months). Even deleting your email address doesn't guarantee that the spam senders will remove your email address from their mailing list ... so even if you recreated an account under the same Yahoo ID in 6 months time, you might end up receiving the same annoying things again.

When you close an account the ID is not available for at least 6 months if ever. What you want to do would serve no purpose since deleting your account would not remove you from mailing lists. ℬ ℋ
