How to deactivate your email?

• I have several email accounts with Yahoo! and one of them was deactivated. This is NOT permanenant as some have suggested. You can reactivate the account, but all previous mail was lost and no new email was being received. The question is this. It says one of the reasons for deactivation can be that the user requested it. Never mind WHY I may want this, but I cannot find out HOW to make such a request and Yahoo! support has previously denied that there is such an option. So which is right? CAN we request deactivation of an account, and then come back months later and reactivate it, just like I did with this one? The benefit is that you still get the same handle and all the settings remain the same. All email sent to it in that period will have bounced back.

  if you leave an account not checked for over four months they will temporaily delete all emails and say its closed to people that right to you ,but they give you a period of about a month maybe two you can come back and say i want my email account back .. but all content will be gone.. So thats what I have found out .
