I can't sign into my free Yahoo account. Error message says "SBC Yahoo account is closed". That makes no sense because it was not an SBC Yahoo account, it was a Free Email Account. Is there a problem with the Yahoo Mail system right now? This started yesterday (Friday) and is continuing today. I reset my password, but am still getting this error. The online help has been no help, I just keep getting the worthless automated response. I reply to it, but do not get any response. Isn't there a quicker way to get help? Also, I've tried using the "Transfer Information" link, which says it will transfer my information to a new free Yahoo Account, but that just keeps saying it is unsuccessful and to try later. Is anyone else experiencing this problem with Yahoo right now? This MUST be a Yahoo problem. I've been using this account for years without any issue. By the way, to ask this question, I signed in with a different account.

I started getting the same thing on Thursday night and I have had just about had enough. I have had my free account for years and years and this has never happened before. I have emailed customer service but have yet to hear back from them, they keep sending me this bogus email about resetting my password and stuff not helpful at all. Let me know if you all get any news. Focalaudio

Not that I can help you much, however I was on line Thursday night, and even posted on a message board and the next thing I knew, I couldn't log in again. I tried refreshing my cookies, cache, restarted my computer. I use 2 anti virus programs. I have also had this account for MANY years, and NEVER give my password information out. I have yet to be able to get into any of my yahoo stuff. It really sucks and have had no luck communicating with yahoo, just those stupid automated responses..... Guess it's time for a HOT MAIL account. Best of luck to you

Called AT&T Billing and got referred to Yahoo Billing after they finally found my account (15 minutes). The Yahoo Billing number is 800-316-0631. They gave me a reference number and said someone would contact me in 3-5 business days. Apparently they are aware of the problem and have tech support working on it.
Got a Plan
Having the SAME issue with my girlfriend's account. I saw at LEAST one other reference to it here as well. Yes.. it started FRIDAY..and appears to be spreading. We found a phone number to yahoo support (direct line to California, we are in Michigan). I do not have the number at the moment (she has it). I found it last night (Friday) with a google search to another website (curiously one devoted to the LACK of yahoo support and the inability of people to talk to a LIVE customer support analyst!). Since yahoo does not publish one.. and people who have had their years-old accounts killed cannot GET onto yahoo for support without creating a new account.. I guess I'll do their work for them and go find it again. ( You'd think they'd have a 1-800- yahoo! number or something, right?? ) I wonder if the News Media would like to hear about this?? Thousands of yahoo customers suddenly having their years-old accounts yanked for no reason?? Hang tight.. we HAVE to fix her account TODAY since this is the BUSY time for realtors (she is one and uses her account for her clients). I'll post an answer when yahoo gives it to us.
