How do you deactivate a Yahoo email account?

Why did yahoo deactivate my email account and every other yahoo service i use?...see details...?

  • For starters i use my email every day,so i know its not because i havent checked recently enough.Second of all,i had a ton of improtant emails in there.Mostly emails that i have saved from my exwife that i was going to use in court.I have kept every single solitary email she sent me over the past three years.I need those for child visitation purposes.Without them i pretty much dont have a leg to stand on....its a long story.Another thing is,all of my contacts were in there.I have no way of getting all of them back. Also i've been using this account so long, thats the email that everyone knows.I dont see where they had any right to deactivate and delete it.I tried to sign in the other day about 85 times and it wouldnt let me.Is there any way of getting it back?I really need this account back.Plus i had a huge customized my yahoo page, just the way i liked it.I also had lots of ratings. It would take me forever to get it back the way i had it,probably never will.Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Could your ex wife deleted your account or were reported for some TOS violation? The only thing I can suggest is calling Yahoo! directly at 1-866-562-7219 and see if they can help you.

Contact Yahoo, I doubt you're going to get an adequate answer here, unfortunately. Could be there was some activity on your account that they recognized as fraudulent, or something you were doing that was against TOS. Not saying you did, just a possibility!! Good luck

The only thing I could suggest is to go to the Help section, and find the Contact screen. I don't know why it got deleted in the first place, maybe it was a mix up of some kind.

has it crossed your mind that maybe your ex fiugred out your password and hijacked it? i find it highly unlikely that yahoo would have deleted or dactivated it.
