What do I do if my email account was compromised?

Email account compromised - everything changed - how do I terminate account?

• Greetings all - I'm a bit desperate here. My primary yahoo email account has been compromised and is no longer under my control. I cannot change/reset the password. The security questions have been changed and the alternate email address has been changed. Of course, Yahoo doesn't have people to deal with this, only a help menu. This account contains sensitive information, so I would be OK for it to just be deleted/terminated, if it comes to that. I know the username and the last password I had set, and the email address which I had set as the alternate. I don't remember which security questions I had selected, but can answer the questions if they are asked. I can even provide the right people at Yahoo with any other identifying information to verify the account is mine, if those people exist. But, right now, all Yahoo has advised me to do is ask the community. Any advice or answers? Thanks for your help.
