How to delete Yahoo email account?

  • I have an email address that I was using in connection with a blog. Now that the blog is defunct, I want to delete the Yahoo email account. Does anyone know how to do this?

Once a yahoo account is deleted it and its contents cannot be recovered. IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE YAHOO ACCOUNT CHECK THAT ONLY THE ACCOUNT YOU WANT TO DELETE IS SIGNED IN. First, make very sure that is what you want to do, if you delete the account you can never get it back, or use that ID name, either. Any other yahoo programs associated with your mail account will also be deleted. If you are sure: Click on the help at the upper right corner of the screen from the account you want to delete. Go here: https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user Then do the following: -Login with your current username and password -Enter in your password once again for verification purposes -Enter in the anti-spam code; this is to prevent automated submissions -Click Terminate This Account to finish off this process. Once you deleted your account, you can never open it back up again due to security reasons. By terminating your account, you will lose access to your entire Yahoo! ID. Everything stored in your account will be lost during the termination process. All this includes the following: -Mail -Address Book -360 -Answers (your posted content will remain permanently archived) -Messenger -My Yahoo! -Groups -Alerts -Flickr -Any other area that is accessible with your username and password The only other alternative is to let your account lapse after 4 months of inactivity. Once a yahoo account is deleted you will have 90 days to reactivate it by calling 866-562-7219.(6a-6p PST) Make sure you get a LIVE operator by punching the right number. All your present information in the deleted account will be held IN that account for that 90 day period...Once 90 days goes by you OR anyone else will not be able to use that ID again...Period... If you have more than one yahoo accounts check that only the account you want to delete is signed in. This is an alternative.
