Why am I getting so many invites to connect?

Why are there so many people trying to connect with me?

  • I've been getting like 20 e-mails that someone wants to connect with my yahoo page. Its starting to worry me because I have a lot of invites. And all they have is the Y! explanation mark. Also, their usernames are really weird. What do I do? Cheers!

    I'm getting these too! I've gotten 8 so far and the first four were weird names like Pjahbyfghsc v2384 then the next four were actually names like Emmy Rosey or something, and they all have the same thing on their profile saying they want to share "sexy" pics with me! I hope this stops soon. Go away spammers!!

Many users have reported the same problem, it seems to be a new way of spamming, where once you accept the connection, the user posts the link to a pornography site. Be very careful, since such websites have been known to plant all sorts of malware on your harddrive! What you can do is this: 1: Go to "My Activity" at the top of this page, click "Edit My Preferences" -> click "Privacy and Communication". Scroll down and click "don't share my updates", hit submit. 2: On the mail screen click "options", at the top of the list unmark "enable updates", click "save changes" at the upper left. That may not stop all requests immediately, but it will slow them down considerably!
