Was it ever against the rules to have two Yahoo! accounts?
-
I had assumed it was against Yahoo's policies to have two separate Yahoo! accounts, especially considering they allow you to create six extra profiles and an extra email address to associate with your account. Yet I was looking through the Yahoo! help pages, and all it says is "One account is sufficient for use throughout the entire Yahoo! network, so we do not recommend creating multiple accounts because of the difficulties associated with maintaining multiple IDs and passwords." http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/edit/edit-07.html Has it always been like that, or did they use to have it where you weren't allowed to create two separate accounts?

Answer:
I've created two accounts, one for more Yahoo! services and the other for chat. I only see a problem with remembering all the details.

Oh come on. When Yahoo's public relations folks posture for who's leading the internet in terms of search, webmail, etc., what number do you think they use in order to make them look best? Oh, please please don't sign up for multiple accounts it will make Yahoo look more successful than they really are. Anyone remember the semi-bogus commercial that was out a few years ago talking about how many people using the internet, and somewhere in barfing out statistics about internet growth, it said "Soon there will be more people on the Internet than there are in the entire world." Uh-huh. Soon there will be more people on Yahoo than there are on the entire Internet. Oh wait, I think maybe we're already there. :-)

No, many people have had more than one Yahoo account in the past. Yahoo does not say you CAN'T have more than one account, they just would rather that you didn't, as it takes up more space in their database. Imagine if everyone who every had an account created mulitple accounts, how much space that would take up. That is why that is in there.

I think that my online life is much easier because I have two accounts! Not only is it not against the rules, many companies recommend having two accounts, and it would make sense that it would be in Yahoo's best interests to have both accounts with Yahoo. So why wouldn't they want you to? The reason I have two accounts is because one is a personal account, for emails from friends and family, and the other is for any type of internet form or survey that asks for my email. That way, I don't have spam clogging up my main email.

No because my first account was ramoolrojas and my second one was ramoorooney (rooney's my brother). >:(

No, there is nothing wrong with having two or more Yahoo! accounts. I know a couple of people that have more than one account and therefore it does not matter. However they will take away your acount if you don't use it for a long time.
