Answer:
My dear friend, almost every day users are posting questions asking whether such mails are fakes or not. Reporting them anywhere doesn't help because the hackers constantly change their addresses. I just wish they'd start educating kids at school about how to recognize scams like this, but as long as they don't, it's more or less up to YA users. And it does not really help to just say <it's a scam>, but we have to educate users further by pointing out the fact that Yahoo wouldn't use another mail provider to send such messages. Since this scam has been around for quite some time, Yahoo must surely be aware of it by now. They are the only ones who know the mail addresses of all their members, they could send a warning about this scam to everybody. I just wonder why they didn't do it yet, after all it might help their business... Edit after reading your added details: I'm not an IT professional, but I know there are ways to controll the sign-up of new members. I'm curious, since Yahoo is such a large professional company - why didn't they find a solution yet? Or did they (as has been suggested by other users) find the solution, but don't want to implement it because the more users they have, the more money they can make through advertising???

no but you can block them where if they try and send an email it just gets bounced back it like they are hitting a wall you set up.

Yahoo would not ask you for your personal information in an E-mail like that. It is a scam to get your personal information and/or money. Do not respond to it. Report it to yahoo, so they are aware. Forward to [email protected]
