How do I change or edit my email address in yahoo?

Yahoo email forwarding educational web site?

  • I have about 100 email contacts that use Yahoo email and every one of them forwards email as an attachment every day... They do not edit out the senders info header or the thousands of extra email addresses included with these forwarded emails... I have shown these co-workers how to clean an email, before sending, but they are still are uncertain or lazy and because of this I have almost stopped sending email to these individuals, as I know they keep sending my email address to everyone they communicate via email... Does yahoo or a third party have a youtube style video message about email etiquette that can be sent to these individuals every time they forward an email without taking the time to clean up an email... I have reached an impasse with a few co-workers that makes me want to add their email address to spammers list to be certain they will receive 10,000 advertising emails a day and must change email addresses every time they forward and email to me with out cleaning the sent headers... Before I find a way to accomplish that anger venting of destroying my co-workers email accounts, I would like to try and use a video education tool so they might finally understand how to clean up their act... Yahoo must have some educational tools I would like to believe... JR

  • Answer:

When Forwarding emails to many others who may not know each other, the addresses could be placed in the Bcc field. This stands for Blind Carbon Copy, and ensures that each person gets a copy without seeing the address of anyone else who is getting it. In the business environment this isn't used, because it is necessary to see who sends or replies to each message up or down the command chain within the company's management hierarchy.

Oh my, I know exactly what you mean. It's one of my biggest pet peeves. These people obviously don't know that all the forwarded addresses will show, don't care, or don't know how to remove them. I've tried to tell them and explain to them, but they just don't get it. I don't know if there are any videos on it though, but I've been on line for 11 years and am aware of "Nettiquette", which are manners for the Internet. The following is a good site for the rules of all kinds - scroll to the bottom and look at " Don't publicize other's email addresses". Frankly, I think everyone on the Internet should have Netiquette as required reading. But keep in mind, many people just don't care or won't be bothered. In these cases, only email them one last time to tell them why and refer them to the Netiquette page.
