Best way to back up Outlook Express?

Sharing on Outlook Express, easiest way.?

  • I just bought a laptop, which is great, but so confusing for Outlook Express. I spend far too much time looking through now two different sets of mails, trying to find where my specific mail went to. Either my tower, or now my laptop. So how do I clone both inboxes into one? Easily, I tried the importing / exporting messages, but get an error. I tried literally dragging the messages onto a thumb drive and dropping them into the folder on my laptop, but it won't even recognise them. Is there an easy way to synchronise these mailboxes and maybe weekly do a switch back and forth? This would save me so much time.

  • Answer:

You must be using POP. You need IMAP. Gmail gives POP and IMAP facility for free. Yahoo has only POP. You can do what you want with IMAP.
