Unable to receive emails from Yahoo webmail, but they go to Blackberry?
-
I've had this Blackberry Curve 8520 for almost a month now. I've synced my Yahoo webmail thru Globe Telecom (Philippines) email setup and after that, it worked perfectly. I was able to send and receive emails both from the Blackberry and the internet thru webmail. But after a couple of weeks, I noticed that my emails came less frequently in the webmail. They go to the phone, but not to the webmail. So what I did was to undo the setup I've had for the Yahoo mail, created another email ([email protected]), and had the webmail forward the messages to the blackberry email. When I sent a test email, the message went to the Blackberry but not on the webmail. I tried a different account to send an message to my webmail but it also did the same thing: nill on the webmail, BB ok. Did my phone somehow messed up my webmail settings? Or did my webmail just eff'd up on its own? HELP! :((

Answer:
If the Blackberry uses an email program like the computer uses Outlook or Thunderbird, Your problem might be that you didn't set the program to "Leave a copy of messages on the server". When your BB downloads messages from the Yahoo server, it seems to be deleting them and therefore you won't see a copy of them in webmail anymore.

This might help, but then again might just confuse you... The Yahoo! External POP Client uses the POP3 protocol (RFC1939), including the UIDL command. For the best user experience, it's recommend the implementation of the optional UIDL command from the POP3 specification and the extended response codes in RFC 2449 and RFC 3206. That said, they still do use the LAST command from RFC 1460 for servers that do not support the UIDL command. is that any help to you???? lol......
