Pop3 settings for rocketmail?

Answer:
In order to use a separate email program, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, or Thunderbird (see below), with Yahoo Mail you need POP3. It is also needed when using any program or right clicking on a file to directly send email. It is free in the UK, AU, and NZ but in the US you must pay for Yahoo Mail Plus. It is also required when you try to transfer the mail using smtp or pop3 to another online email. When you do you can set the servers as follows: Incoming (pop3) US - plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com Use SSL; Port 995 UK - pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk Use SSL; Port 995 AU and NZ - pop.mail.yahoo.com.au Use SSL; Port 995 Outgoing (smtp) US - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com Use TLS; Port 465 UK - smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk Use SSL and TLS; Port 465 AU and NZ - smtp.mail.yahoo.com.au Use SSL and TLS; Port 465 NOTE: The same servers are used for ymail and rocketmail. Use the entire email address as the Yahoo ID. There is an add on for Thunderbird that will allow many web email accounts including Yahoo without the need for POP3. Go to http://webmail.mozdev.org/ NOTE: I have not been able to get this to work. Maybe it will not work with Beta yet. If you are running Thunderbird 3 and Yahoo Beta Mail and it works, please contact me. ₪ ʎəɿʞɹɐq ₪ Wednesday, December 29, 2010

Rocketmail, Ymail, and Yahoo! Mail all use the same settings. There are two sets of settings for Yahoo email. The first assumes that you are allowed POP3 access on the FREE accounts. Many of us have to use the PAID Yahoo Mail Plus accounts in order to access POP3 facilities, in which case the second set of settings would apply. 1) Yahoo! Mail Settings (if allowed) Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110) Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25) 2) Yahoo! Mail Plus email server settings Yahoo Plus Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 995) Yahoo Plus Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (SSL enabled, port 465, use authentication) If you need to upgrade, go to Options > Mail Plus > Upgrade now > enter your payment details for $19.99 annual fee to complete the process.

you won't be able to set up your account for POP3 if it is created for free. not unless it is a subscribed one.
