How can I access the email I have sent from the Outlook Exp. Program on my computer when at another computer?
-
This is Answer I received to my first question in this regard: There's no such thing as Outlook Express Email. You're using the Outlook Express program on your computer to access email from Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, or any other email account. To access email from Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, or any other email account on another computer, you need to log on to the email provider's website using your email address and password, and check the messages from there. If it is another computer you have full control of, then you can also set up Outlook Express or another similar program in the same way as on the first computer - again making sure to select "Leave a copy on Server". NOW FOR ANOTHER QUESTION IN THIS REGARD: When I am away from home at someone else's computer, I can go to www.yahoo.com and access all emails I've sent or received in that Account but I cannot access all of the emails I have sent and received when I used Outlook Express on my home computer. I just want to verify that unless I set up an Outlook Express Account on the computer I am using away from home, not my personal computer, I will not be able to access the emails I have sent or received using Outlook Express, correct? And if I set up an Outlook Express Account away from home, it would be a new one and wouldn't have the emails I have sent or received at my home computer, correct? Thank you.

Answer:
Mail on Yahoo's server is "on the web" and can be accessed from anywhere - both received and sent. Mail in Outlook Express is "on your computer" and cannot be accessed from another computer. When using Outlook Express, Received mail is a copy of what was received on the web, whereas Sent mail is sent directly from the computer and is not recorded on the web There are two methods of downloading mail from the web to the computer - POP3 and IMAP. The POP3 system only downloads your RECEIVED mails from the server to your computer, therefore your SENT mails from webmail will never show on your computer (Outlook Express), nor will the SENT mails from your computer (Outlook Express) show in the webmail. The IMAP system allows a two-way sync of ALL your emails. Both SENT and RECEIVED emails will synchronize between the web and your computer(s) irregardless of whether the SENT ones were done on the website or the computer (Outlook Express). Yahoo is not compatible with the IMAP system, therefore this option is not available to you. Setting up Outlook Express on another computer isn't going to solve your problem as it relates to SENT mail. Try sending yourself a copy of all mail you send out by including your own address in the Cc or Bcc field. Then you'll be able to find it in your received mail (Inbox) - both web and Outlook Express.
