How do I sync my thunderbird email with my iphone?

However, when i read my emails on my iphone, they are marked as new still on my thunderbird account (visa versa). Is there anyway to sync my email with my iphone, so that when i get an email and i read it, it has been opened and read on my thunderbird account . Thanks,

  Yes, this can be done. You will have to use a technology called IMAP (as opposed to POP), which allows you to leave email on the mail server and have multiple devices (your thunderbird and iphone for instance) access the mail (and get the same view of read/unread, sent emails, folder etc). Unfortunately Hotmail cannot be accessed using IMAP, so you will have to do work around this. It is actually not that difficult. 1. Create a free Gmail account (you do not have to send email using this account, and you can still send and receive from your hotmail address). 2. Enable IMAP on your Gmail account. 3. Setup Gmail to send and receive email from your hotmail address. You can also import all your email from hotmail to your Gmail account, so it will be availabe on Thunderbird and your iPhone). 4.
