How can I read my yahoo e-mail via Microsoft outlook 2007?

Yahoo mails being transfered to Microsoft Outlook 2007?

  • I'm trying to set up the Microsoft Outlook 2007, it is ok but then I realised my yahoo mails, those in recent years mails are all being transfered to Microsoft Outlook 2007 mailbox, now my yahoo mails only left with those very old mails which I have no intention to transfer out my recents mails. Btw, I'm using the same email address for both Yahoo and Microsoft Outlook mailbox, is this the reason that caused the problem? Can anyone advise me how to transfer my yahoo mails back to my yahoo mailbox, do I need change my Microsoft Outlook Mailbox email address, not the same as my yahoo email address to stop this problem? Please help and thank you for your kind advice in advance!!

  • Answer:

You can't send back the ones that have been already deleted from the Yahoo server. To fix this for new emails, you need to find and select the option to "Leave a copy of messages on the server". In Outlook 2007 it is Tools > Account Settings > Change > More Settings > Advanced tab > check the box for the option to "Leave a copy of messages on the server". No you do not need and actually cannot use a separate email address. Microsoft Outlook is not an email account. It is just a program on your computer, housing the email account you've created on the web. It is simply a different way of handling the same email account.
