Can I mail a small box in the mail box using post office?

Can I mail any size box through the post office ?

  • Im in the US & I wanna send a box to my friend in Philly . I know i needa take it to the post office to get it mailed, but can I use anysize box ? My intended size is pretty small (the things im sending arent that big) so do I HAVE to use the boxes from USP? &do i go right up to the postoffice person & ask for a sticker thing to stick on my box ?

  • Answer:

The post office will give you Priority Mail shipping boxes, but they do not give you address stickers or tape or anything else. You have to do your own packing, sealing and addressing. You can use your own boxes, too.

dunno about usa but in uk i think it depends on the weight of what you send over a certain amount have to use couriers instead

I think you'll find there's a maximum weight and size for Parcel Post through the Post Office. Beyond that, you're really shipping Air Cargo or Sea Freight for overseas, or some other trucking company for overland transport.
