WHAT is the SMTP? and WHAT is POP3(on yahoo?

Pop3 & SMTP has always worked but stopped working after changing password. Waiting for reply from Yahoo staff.?

  • After I changed password on my account, it no longer works to fetch mail via pop.mail.yahoo.se or send mail to smtp.mail.yahoo.com via my email program. This has worked fine for me for many years now, but stopped working when I changed my Yahoo password. Logging in via the Yahoo webmail interface works fine however. Does anyone have an idea what is wrong here? My account is many years old and I have read on some websites that "older" accounts might use a different "Terms of Service" or something, that would explain why these older accounts works (or well used to work for me) with POP3 and SMTP without upgrading to the Plus! service. Anyway, as said earlier POP3 and SMTP has worked fine for me for years now before the password change. It is also possible that pop.mail.yahoo.se works different or has different terms/conditions than pop.mail.yahoo.com. What do I know. Not much since I am asking here ;-) I am waiting for a reply from Yahoo to my inquiry about this that I sent through their contact page about 2 days ago now. I thought it was worth a short at asking here while waiting for their reply.

  • Answer:

Your password is stored in your email program. It is automatically sent when sending or receiving mail. You will have to look through the options in the program. You may have to just delete the record and then you will be prompted for the password the next time. ₪ ʎəɿʞɹɐq ₪
