How do i get my yahoo emails on microsoft outlook?
-
I'm computer illiterate. And I want to view my yahoo email in outlook instead of yahoo.com. How can I do this?

Answer:
In order to use a separate email program, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, or Thunderbird, with Yahoo Mail you need POP3. It is also needed when using any program or right clicking on a file to directly send email. It is free in the UK, AU, and NZ but in the US you must pay for Yahoo Mail Plus. It is also required when you try to transfer the mail using smtp or pop3 to another online email. When you do you can set the servers as follows: Incoming (pop3) US - plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com SSL 995 UK - pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk SSL 995 AU and NZ - pop.mail.yahoo.com.au SSL 995 Outgoing (smtp) US - plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com 465 TLS UK - smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk SSL 465 TLS AU and NZ - smtp.mail.yahoo.com.au SSL 465 TLS NOTE: The same servers are used for ymail and rocketmail. Use the entire email address as the Yahoo ID. You can also look at the program Ypops. I have no recommendation for or against. ₪ ʎəɿʞɹɐq ₪

This doesn't work for users with the FREE Yahoo email account. You need the PAID version Yahoo! Mail Plus in order to access through Outlook. Open Outlook and click on Tools > Email Accounts > Add a new Email Account > click POP3 (or IMAP) > click Next and use the following info to fill in the spaces in the set up wizard: Incoming mail server settings * POP server: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com * Use SSL * Port: 995 Outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings * SMTP server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com * Use SSL * Port: 465 * Use authentication * Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com", for example, “testing80”) * Email Address: Your Yahoo! Mail address (for example, [email protected]) * Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password After filling the Internet Email Settings page, click More Settings to continue, and on the Advanced tab there is a check box with an option to "Leave a copy of messages on the server". My usual preference is to select this option, just in case anything goes wrong. Then click OK, Next, and Finish.
