Outlook Express & Yahoo Groups Mail?
-
Hello, I've been using Outlook Express for the past few years to receive my mail from both Yahoo Groups and Google Groups. I've never has any issues... until last Saturday. I tried receiving my mails as usual but I got the same error message from OE for the past three days: 'The server responded with an error. Account: 'Yahoo, Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.ca', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR problem retrieving message.', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90' I started researching online for a solution, but without much success. After trying quite a few things I read, I created a new folder on the web-based mail, moved all my mail in that folder, moved a few back into the inbox, tried receiving again with OE, but kept getting the same error message. I finally figured out that OE would only successfully receive mails from my Google Groups and from Hotmail. As for mails from my Yahoo groups, I have to move them one by one back and forth between the folder and the Inbox to figure out which ones I can and cannot receive. This doesn't seem normal. Did anyone encounter this problem as well and is there a solution? Thanks in advance to anyone who will figure this one out! Stephen

Answer:
Hi Stephen, I have spent the entire day going through mail with the same problem. Mine also started a few days ago. I am thinking its a glitch with yahoo as I can get my google group mail just fine. I can get all mail just fine as I have 5 accounts set up in OE. However, which ever account I use for my yahoo mail, that is the account that refuses to download to OE. I get that same error msg you are getting. I tried it with 6 different accounts and each time the same thing. So I have to keep going to the web and deleting mail off the server. Hope they find an answer to this. Its NOT gmail. I know this because I have 4 gmail accounts and two pay accounts. All work fine until I assign one of the accounts to download my yahoo group mail. Then the problem starts. Maybe someone will read this and have the solution. I do know that I had to delete ALL mail from the server. Not move or save to any folders. For me, it had to all be deleted. Even the trash and spam folder had to be empty. Then I would test OE and it would be fine. No error msg. Until another group email hit the gmail account. Then the error msg would appear again. If you have mail held hostage, try forwarding to another email account and then deleting. That worked for me, but has not solved the problem of future mail and the error msg. Sarah
