Why does Yahoo! Mail work on my iPod, but not Windows Live Mail?
-
Hi, I decided today that I wanted my Yahoo! Mail account on my iPod Touch's Mail app for easy access. On iOS 4.3, when it asks what type of account you want to set up, I tapped "Yahoo!", entered my info, and it set the account up for me. Sending and revieving work seamlessly. Now, when I want to add the same account to my Windows Live Mail progam on my computer, I can't. I don't have Yahoo! Mail Plus (and don't plan on getting it), but why is my account working on my iPod, but not the Windows Live Mail desktop program? What is my iPod doing that I'm not? (I know the servers are pop.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com. I'm using authentication on the outgoing server, and using SSL for both, with ports 995 on POP3 and 465 on SMTP.) Thanks!

Answer:
Because live IS an email service. Different server.
