Why does my ATT-Yahoo email show fewer undeleted emails on Webmail vs Entourage on my desktop?

  • I have lots of undeleted email on Entourage on my Mac desktop. But only a day or two worth of email shows up when I view mail from Webmail or using my IPhone 3G (even though my settings say to show me up to 50 emails on the iPhone). Also on the iPhone, I'll sometimes see a "show more messages" message flash on and then off before I can click on it. I want to see more mail on my phone.

    Managing e-mails on the mobile is different from using them on the computer. I know the problem with the iphone, but you can`t do anything against it. Greetings The Freak

Your Entourage email program downloads a copy of all the emails from your email account. Since Yahoo only allows POP3 rather than IMAP downloads, what happens afterward on your computer is completely separate from what happens in the webmail. If you read or delete a message in webmail it will not mark it Read nor delete it in Entourage. If you make changes in Entourage, it won't change anything in the webmail version.
