Gmail and Outlook 2003?

i want to sync my Gmail and Oulook 2003.. I'm not able to find the mails after i download it to outlook from Gmail. Even i've checked the option keep a copy on server in advanced tab settings.. After I enabled the outtlook all my mails got downloaded to my Outlook 2003.. I dont want it.. I want to keep a copy on the server too.. How can I do this.. Please help me out on this issue..

Best way to do this is to use IMAP instead of pop3. To do this, log into your Gmail, go to Settings and then to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. Under IMAP Access, you have to first enable it, then there's a Configuration instructions link which will help you with the step by step instructions. Click on the Learn more link for more info on IMAP. I use my gmail like this and it works really well.
