Why does yahoo mail not allow free Forwarding?

Yahoo Mail Plus Pop forwarding to MacMail?

  • July 22, 2008 - I am suddenly having problems with yahoo pop forwarding to mac mail on a macbook with OS X - this has worked fine for a year, now won't connect either to send or receive. The error box reads: "There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account “Yahoo” or try again. The server error encountered was: The connection to the server “plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com” on port 995 timed out.". I am a Mail Plus subscriber, I have changed settings to include 'plus.'. I've confirmed in Mail Options that Pop settings are ok. Any ideas? One possible reason is that my Mail Plus account went dead for a month because my credit card number was no longer valid. I've paid again this morning with new card, but still it's not working. And what really annoys me is whenever I try to find a page to contact Yahoo directly, I just keep getting redirected to the Yahoo Login page. Do they not want to be bothered with our enquiries....?!
