How to I transfer over my contacts and emails?

How do I transfer emails and contacts from Microsoft Outlook to a new computer?

  If it is definitely outllok and not outlook express, here goes. 1. In outlook click on file and select 'import and export'. 2. From the wizard select 'export to a file', click next. 3. Then under 'Create a file of type:' choose 'Personal Folder File (.pst).) click Next. 4. When the 'Export Personal Folders Box appears select 'mailbox' (right at the top) then in the sasme window check the box that says 'include subfolders' click Next. 5. In the box where it asks you to export the file it should read 'C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\backup.pst'. Make a note of this or change the location if you want. 6. Select Finish Go to windows explorer and copy the file 'backup.pst' to CD. Put the CD into the laptop and open outlook. Now to import. 1. Follow step 1 above. 2. From the wizard select 'import from another program file', click next. 3. Scroll down to 'Personal Folder File (.pst).) click Next. 4. Under Import Personal Folders select the option to browse. Find the CD drive and locate the file 'backup.pst' and double click the file. 5. Select Next 6. Select 'Personal Folders' at the top and click finish. Hope this helps
