How do I reset Microsoft outlook 2010?

When I open Microsoft Outlook 2010, it opens to MS Exchange. How do I stop this from happening?

  • Open MS Outlook 2010 says "The connection to MS Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action". Click ok. Now it wont allow me to click any file tabs and brought up a box where I need to enter a MS Exchange server name and Mailbox. Sorry I am an Idiot and Don't know what to do here. So I click Cancel. Pop up says "Cannot open your defualt e-mail folders. The file "Missing file link" is not an outlook data file (.ost)." Then closes everything out. I need help on this and would like MS Exchange not to come up again when I open MS Outlook.

Hey, I had the same issue. Try going to Start Menu > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > Mail > E-mail Accounts... Now under the "E-mail" tab (which it should start in by default), if your name or e-mail account name is in the box below, select it then click the "Repair..." button. If this doesn't work you can try to create a new e-mail account and then delete the old one. If THAT doesn't work (which it didn't for me...), rather than click the "E-mail Accounts..." button in Start Menu > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > Mail, click the "Show Profiles..." button. In the box under "The following profiles are set up on this computer:" you should see an Outlook profile. Select it, then click "Remove" Try restarting Outlook at this time.
