How do I setup outlook 2007 with my yahoo account?

Yahoo Plus with Outlook 2007 keeps asking to 'Enter Network Password'?

  • I have the Yahoo Plus service and setup Yahoo on Outlook 2007. I'm able to send and receive mail via Outlook, but I'm getting an annoying 'Enter Network Password' pop up message every couple minutes for the Yahoo email account (which is the only one I have configured). The password is already included, and I click the submit button, but it keeps coming back...How do I stop this? It's driving me nuts. Thanks.

  • Answer:

This is what I tried and it seems to have worked for me: 1. Close out of Microsoft Outlook. 2. Go to the Start button and paste the following in the “Search Programs and Files” box %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsof… 3. The folder will come up showing as sub folder. Example: S-1-4-32-5113460912-1561607613-118631335… 4. Rename that folder by adding .old at the end. Example: S-1-4-32-5113460912-1561607613-118631335… 5. Start Microsoft Outlook.

Frustrating, isn't it? Started happening to me about a week ago in Outlook 2010. There are several threads about this. One suggests to use: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com but that didn't work for me, still kept popping up. I'm now using Clickoff as a workaround (google it), it just clicks the ok button automatically. We think its a server issue, none of us have changed anything. For the record, the error in the log is: Task '[email protected] - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your email server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password for this account in Account Settings. The server responded: -ERR internal server error (6532)'

This also started happening to me this week. I also have Outlook 2007 and Yahoo Plus. I hope Yahoo can fix this very annoying problem.
