Yahoo! Mail App For Blackberry?

Why does Yahoo! Mail Plus reject my password from Leopard's Mail.app every few minutes?

  • I use Mail.app on OS X Leopard 10.5.2 to check both my Yahoo Mail Plus and Gmail accounts. I've verified that my POP settings for Yahoo Mail Plus are entered correctly, and my password is correct as well. No problems at all with Gmail. But every few minutes, Yahoo Mail Plus causes Mail.app to demand my Yahoo password again. Sometimes repeatedly. The password is correct and yet Yahoo Mail won't accept it. What gives?!

  • Answer:

I have been getting the same error in outlook the past few days. Some of my customers have had to change the default ports. I am checking into that right now to see if that is what I have to do now also. UPDATE- pop3 settings page mentions they are tweaking the servers. if you sign into your yahoo webmail, and go to mail option/pop3 & forwarding you can view the pop settings. While the default ports of 110 and 25 still work for me on all my computers, they are officially wanting users to change their ports to the secure ones listed.

Same problem this morning, Yahoo Mail Plus w/POP access is working intermittently. Frustrating. I even tried changing my password in Yahoo, still no go. I sent Yahoo a message about the issue, hopefully it is cleared up soon Mac OS X 10.4.11 Mail 2.1.3

Have had same problem intermittently for many months in Yahoo Mail Plus (USA). I suspect the Yahoo Mail Plus preference for the interval to verify password is in conflict with Mail 2.1.3. When did Yahoo add that unwanted improvement, and why can't we opt out of it? I suffered through this for several days this week and finally complained to Yahoo. It then stopped before they replied asking for more info. So I wrote a reply, and hit 'SEND' ... up pops that box asking for my password again. OS X 10.4.11 Mail 2.1.3
