Windows mail will receive but will not SEND?

MS Vista Windows Mail can't send & receive e-mails?

  • Hi all, I've a PC that runs on MS Vista & I'm using Windows Mail to send & receive e-mails. Problem is: It stopped working totally as from today. Whenever I do a Send/Receive, a prompt box appears & ask for User Name & Password. Even after I'd keyed in those information, the prompt box keeps appearing, asking for the same thing! Heading nowhere, I stopped the operation & found this error message: Account: 'www.XXXXX.com.sg', Server: 'www.xxxxx.com.sg', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Authentication Failed, For technical support, please e-mail to [email protected]', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 A search online gave me these solutions: 1. Check my Windows Mail properties. (Everything ok) 2. Disable Email Scanning of my Anti-Virus (I'm using Norton 360) 3. Delete e-mail account (suspect corruption) from Windows Mail & log out/Reboot PC, recreate the account again. Tried everything in vain..Somebody help?
