How to set up an email account in outlook 2003?

HELP!!!! Outlook 2007 POP/SMTP On Exchange 2003 server.?

  • How do I set up an email on Exchange 2003 to receive emails from outside the company network. There is no IT person with the company so i have to figure this out. There are two examples that I can give so that you can understand what I am talking about... 1. Created a new user in exchange 2003, I set up that persons computer with Outlook 2007. That person is able to receive messages from within the company, but cannot receive outside emails from other companies, or regular internet emails (Yahoo etc.) Did I skip a step? 2. On an existing account on the same Exchange 2003 server, I changed the last name of an employee to her NEW married name. Everything switched fine except for the email issue where before i switched her last name she WAS receiving outside emails and now she only receives emails from only in house. What am I doing wrong? What am I NOT doing?

  • Answer:

If you want to use Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or other third party email clients to view your email you have 2 options. Subscribe to mail plus: http://billing.mail.yahoo.com/bm/Upgrades or download and install YPOPS http://ypopsemail.com/ then follow the directions for your version of outlook here, http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/index.html If you have trouble with set up, check the YPOPS installation page for alternate set up instructions. http://dbeusee.home.comcast.net/ Click on YPOPS link on the left. Then Click on Configuring email clients towards the bottom. Choose the appropriate link for your mail client. I currently utilize version 2.0.0.4 of Thunderbird and version 0.8.3 of YPOPS (there is a more recent version of YPOPS that you need if you are Yahoo Beta Mail) and have no problems.
