Why can't I send mail to Yahoo accounts?

How do I receive mail/send mail to my yahoo account from other accounts (such as hotmail)?

Firstly, I need to know if this feature is avaible with a free Yahoo account. I want to send the emails I receive from a hotmail acocunt to my yahoo inbox. Secondly, it lets me add a mail account, but when I click 'Check Mail' it says that 'hotmail' is an invalid mail server. What should I put where it asks for: 'Mail Server- Only POP mail servers are supported at this time' Thirdly, if I have to put a POP address, where do I find that? I have checked both the Hotmail and Yahoo help pages but just got more confused.
Answer:

Pop isn`t available for Free accounts. Hotmail and Yahoo charge for that service.

Yes, they don't support each other. POP servers are different. If you have outlook, try setting up such a way that all your mails come into that.
